This was a commission by my number one patron, who wanted a picture of E.T. to put up in his kitchen window, to surprise his girlfriend, (now his wife), who had a morbid fear of this little creature.

I am always happy to help a friend, so I drew this under his supervision. (I usually prefer to draw in solitude.) We had had a few drinks and stuff that night, so it was a fun project to work on this with a live audience.

This piece was drawn in Charcoal on blue paper, with a little white pastel in the eyes. The blue paper has not stood up to the test of time, and is now almost a white sheet of paper. It would be interesting to rub the whole image out and see if the charcoal has protected the pigment underneath, and if there is a shadow burned into the paper.
