This piece is an exploration of patterns subjected to various light sources. It's about depth and subtlety. I tried to make this piece as organic as possible.

I found the design in a book of typographical ornaments, when i was looking for images to use for drawings for the Tattoo You series. I liked the floral aspect of the piece, and the image felt very mechanical, so to draw it softer and with a more natural feel was an enjoyable challenge.

I am still happy with how the piece turned out, it just took a lot longer than I had anticipated. I think that I had Gran in mind a lot when I drew this piece. I think she will enjoy this piece more than a lot of the other things I have drawn.

I still think this piece would look good as a tattoo on someone, so i still plan to see if Russel is interested in hanging a print of this one in the shop.
