I didn't know whether to call this a still life, as there are no elements contained within that are alive. Unless this is actually a skull fragment from the great-great-grandfather of Optimus Prime, as I originally suspected.
I took the photo of this image at Silverton while on the Broken Hill trip, as it just looked like something that I needed to draw.
It is certainly the most organic mechanical structure I have attempted to draw, and it almost feels like it could have once been alive. This was actually a harder piece that I thought, the way the harsh, harsh sun rips into everything out there, nothing was orderly, and most of the surfaces were covered in oxidation, no defined smooth shapes in this one. To add insult to injury, I used watercolour paper.
